Ford Police UK

We know Ford does well when it comes to police vehicle performance and sales here in the U.S. It looks as if UK law enforcement organizations enjoy Blue Oval cruisers as well.

Ford just cut a deal for 1,110 vehicles with several forces in the northern and southern parts of the European sovereign state. The former area’s 22 police squads will receive 120 Kuga SUVs (Escapes to us Yankees) and 560 Transit Custom vans; half of the Transits will be capable of transporting two detainees and as many as five officers. The latter zone’s six fire departments and 28 police services will get 80 Kugas, 200 Transit Customs, 110 Transit Connects, and 30 Rangers.

Transit Customs aren’t just used for hauling away perps, though. They also serve as crime scene unit vehicles, camera vans, and – like the new all-wheel-drive Mondeo wagons – dog carriers.
