Test Drive: Reviewing the 2017 F-250 Super Duty Platinum

We already know that the 2017 Super Duty is really, really good.  So good in fact, that it’s taken home Motor Trend’s Truck of the Year award, and it appears destined to rack up more accolades moving forward. But what, exactly, is it like to drive?

Autobytel got their hands on an F-250 Platinum to find out. With a robust price tag of $62,110, it represents the top of the line for Ford’s heavy duty pickup, though it’s not as expensive as they can get.  It also has the very robust and very new 6.7 liter diesel under the hood, which produces 440 horsepower and a stump-pulling 920 lb-ft of torque.

The reviewer is quite pleased with the styling of the new F-250, along with the abundance of external LED lighting and torque available from the new turbo diesel. Also receiving accolades is the incredible rigidity of the new truck and the fact that it feels much lighter than it actually is.

Overall, it’s another impressive review to add to the impressive new Super Duty portfolio. This is clearly a capable and comfortable truck that stands way above the current competition, and that’s something Ford can really hang their hat on.
