Buy This Bronco: 1991 Time Capsule is Too Legit to Quit

One look at this ’91 Bronco and you’ll want to crank up MC Hammer and dust off Home Improvement DVDs.

You may or may not remember, but 1991 was a great year. Our TVs were full of awesome shows like Home Improvement, Fresh Prince of Bel Air, Married with Children, and Seinfeld. Iconic films like Boyz n the Hood, Silence of the Lambs, and City Slickers hit the theaters. The radio was ripe with hit tunes from the likes of Pearl Jam, MC Hammer, Nirvana, and everybody’s favorite – Michael Bolton. But best of all, you could still buy an awesome new Ford Bronco at your local dealership.

Bronco

A Bronco like this gorgeous time capsule we recently spotted at Streetside Classics in Atlanta, Georgia. It shows a mere 46,713 undocumented miles on the odometer, but even if it’s turned over at least once, you’d have a hard time finding visual evidence of that. The original paint and interior trim shine as good as they did 26 years ago.

Call it the anti-crossover, but this Bronco hails from a time when manly SUVs were all the rage. That means a full size body on a real frame, with V8 power and real four-wheel drive. This one still sports its original, unmodified 302 and a 4-speed automatic transmission. Of course, nothing says ’90s better than a set of aluminum wheels, and 31×10.50-15 BFGoodrich All-Terrain tired with raised white letters.

Forgive us if you aren’t still dreaming of big SUVs, hightop fades, and flannel shirts, because some of us actually miss those days. Days when buying a real Bronco was as easy as heading down to your local Ford dealership and signing paperwork.
