Bricknose Camper is a Big-cube Blast from the Past
Powered by a 460 cubic inch V8, this 4×4 should have no problem finding the perfect campsite, no matter where it is.
Looking for a classic camper with big cubes, three pedals, and a whole lot of room? If you weren’t before, you probably are now. Check out this awesome bricknose we found for sale on Craigslist in Colfax, California.
This white 1987 Ford F-250 features an extended cab, an 8′ bed, and a camper. It’s the perfect weekend getaway vehicle for you and a special someone, and if could be yours for just $7,200.
That may seem like a lot of money for an older truck, but seven grand and change buys you a rust-free, heavy-duty truck with just 127,000 miles on the odometer.
Under the hood, you’ll find a massive, torquey 460 cubic inch V8. According to the seller, it’s fed by a four-barrel Holley carburetor that’s just been rebuilt and re-jetted. This thing should run like a champ for years to come.
That big V8 is backed by a four-speed manual transmission sending power through all four wheels. That’s right, this camping rig is four-wheel drive, for when you really need to get far, far away from it all.
The blue interior looks to be in great shape, save for a small tear in the driver’s seat. Given the age of the truck, that small tear is more than forgivable. Since it’s along a seam, any good upholstery shop should be able to fix it easily.
The seller claims that they are an ASE certified technician. Included with the sale are receipts for all of the parts that have been replaced during their ownership.
Just like the rest of the truck, the inside of the camper shows its age well. The wood paneling may look dated, but we’d call it “rustic” or “quaint” instead. Besides, it appears to be in great shape, and it gets the job done. If you’re camping, you should be outdoors, anyway, not worrying about trying to look modern.
This well-preserved camper is part time capsule, part weekend getaway machine. We’d love to add it to our fleet for those times when the bustle of modern life gets under our skin.
