Long Term Plan

To most Ford fans, aftermarket conversion company Centurion is most famous for their four-door Bronco conversions. But they also built a variety of different cool vehicles, including this crew cab '94 F-150 owned by FTE member fordman67

Love at First Sight

fordman67 happened to come across this cool project recently while traveling to Texas to help his buddy find a work truck. It was there that he spotted the cool Centurion, a truck he tried to forget about but just couldn't.

Sealing the Deal

He initially returned home without the truck but decided to sell his '04 Lincoln Navigator to raise the cash to buy it. Next thing you know, it was on a trailer bound for its new home in Indiana.

Pleasant Surprise

Even after sitting in storage for quite some time, the truck looked great after a nice wash. And it also started right up, surprisingly. "I have to say at 119k miles this thing rides, drives, and sits as nice as I can hope for," fordman67 said at the time.

Problem Solver

Of course, there were some issues to sort out. The truck was throwing a check engine light and the transmission wasn't shifting quite right. fordman67 proceeded to complete all the typical maintenance work and swapped in a new TPS, which cleared up those issues.

Cleanup Time

After a few weeks, serious work began. The next thing you know, the bed was off this Centurion. That's when he noticed that both fuel tanks were trashed, so he ordered new ones. And in the meantime, he pressure-washed and painted this section of the frame.

Back to Life

Fordman67  also installed a set of 2" lowering shackles to bring the rear down a notch. With a fresh coat of paint, this part of the truck was looking like brand new, too.

Sealed Up

The next step was to yank the engine and reseal everything, which is always a good idea with an old truck that's been sitting for a while. He also replaced the oil pan and timing cover while he was at it.

Check List

That job went off without a hitch and the truck was back together and running great in no time. Then it was on to other small projects, including a new instrument cluster and a brake and bearing job.
