King of the Road: Six-Door Monster F-350 Found in Utah!
Back in 1996, dinosaurs roamed the Earth. Well, at least this one did.
Old Body Style (OBS) Ford trucks have quite a following. For the uninitiated, OBS trucks are the ’92-’96 body style (or ’97 for heavy duty trucks).
This 1996 Ford F-350 isn’t your average OBS truck. For one thing, it’s rust-free. For another, it’s probably the biggest truck of it’s type we’ve ever seen. It’s a dually longbed with six – yes, count ’em, six – doors.
It’s offered for sale in Woods Cross, Utah, in the marketplace section of local TV station KSL’s website. Even in the decidedly un-manly (but oh-so-’90s) shade of seafoam green, it’s one of the toughest-looking trucks we’ve ever seen.
Of course, that rugged-looking stance is helped along by the six-inch Skyjacker lift and 37″ tires. That massive rubber is wrapped around 20″ wheels. From the back, this monster truck looks not unlike a steamroller.
Powered by a 7.3 liter Powerstroke diesel engine, this thing has plenty of juice to haul whatever you need, along with eight of your best buddies. That’s right, according to the seller, this thing seats nine. It’s like an off-road limousine, although we doubt that there’s a minibar in the back.
According to the seller, this is no home-built creation. The conversion was carried out by Centurion when the truck was new, meaning that there might be more than one of these beasts out there. We sure hope that we can find one closer to us, even if it is seafoam green like this one (we actually dig the color).
Centurion isn’t a well-known name these days, but back in the 1980s and 1990s, they built some of the wildest Ford trucks in the world. Their four-door Broncos combined either an F-150 or an F-350 with a Bronco to produce something akin to a Chevrolet Suburban, except better – and, in the case of the C350, built on a one-ton truck frame.
Still, we’d say that this six-door conversion is even wilder. While we’d like to think that we know a lot about Ford trucks, we still manage to discover things we never knew existed. When that happens, we like to share those oddities with you.
