A Beautiful but Flawed 1936 Ford 1/2 Ton Pickup
F-series Ford trucks have become so popular that many actually forget that there was a time when the F-series trucks didn’t exist. And if the F-series trucks weren’t around, that must mean that there were no Ford trucks, right? Of course, this is not this case!
Before the F-series trucks came about there were still Ford pickups roaming the streets, and RK Motors Charlotte has taken on the task of rejuvenating one of these rides back to its former glory! More specifically, they have restored a 1936 Ford 1/2 ton pickup, and it is absolutely stunning.
This rig was a frame-off build, and it shows in every way imaginable on this amazing truck. With a V8 under the hood, a tan interior, a Cobalt Blue exterior, and only 2,500 miles, what’s not to like?
We’ll ignore the fact that the motor, a ZZ4 V8, is actually a GM Performance crate motor. After all, getting this Ford back on the road was worth it regardless, and we’re very happy to see that it is cruising once again!
The rig now has a Fatman Fabrication chassis, an upgraded suspension, modern Sony audio, a 700R4 4-speed automatic transmission, rack and pinion steering, disc brakes in the front and drum brakes in the rear, a custom leather interior, a Ford 8-inch rear axle, Budnik wheels, vintage air conditioning, and more!
This restoration was completed in 2005, and now this gorgeous classic pickup is looking for a new home! RK Motors Charlotte is asking under $60,000 for the ride, which is definitely a decent deal! Feel free to browse a gallery of the photographs of this old rig or check out some more information on everything that has been done! Overall, we’re excited that this Ford will be heading to a new home, which is certainly what it deserves!
