1990 Ford F-150 Emerges for Sale With a Mere 196 Miles on the Clock

1990 Ford F-150

It’s hard to believe any 1990 Ford F-150 has traveled less than 200 miles, but this gem is the real deal.

When you’re talking about a truck that’s 30 or so years old, it’s fair to say that pretty much anything under 100,000 miles qualifies as a “low-mile” pickup. But then there are the extreme cases, where someone, some way, these older trucks never get driven. Oftentimes, the owner passes away shortly after acquiring their new vehicle, and instead of selling it, the family keeps it stashed away before choosing to part ways with it decades later. And that appears to be the case with this amazing 1990 Ford F-150 up for grabs at Bring a Trailer.

A collector of Blue Oval vehicles apparently purchased this 1990 Ford F-150 from the original owner’s family, and earlier this year, sold it to the person who has now put it up for auction. The odometer shows a mere 196 miles, and at first, the seller was admittedly hesitant to believe that it hadn’t rolled over, given the truck’s age. However, a quick look over the condition of the truck is enough to convince anyone that this is the case.

After all, no matter where you look, this F-150 is in absolutely perfect, showroom condition. The two-tone gray paint is flawless, the chrome polished like a mirror. It’s also an extended cab, which is not something you see every day with trucks of this vintage, and all of the exterior rubber looks brand new as well.

The same goes for the very gray interior and its vinyl bench seat, which is in stunning condition, while the carpet doesn’t look like it has a single grain of dirt in it. The rear jump seats have likely never been used, while even the faux wood looks perfect. As an XLT Lariat, this F-150 comes equipped with lots of goodies including power windows and locks, air conditioning, and cruise control, though one of the window regulators apparently stopped working and had to be replaced.

The engine bay and the 5.0-liter V8 it contains are also incredibly sanitary, and this particular truck is equipped with two fuel tanks for long road trips – even though this one has obviously never taken advantage of that feature. Overall, this 1990 F-150 is an amazing specimen, one that has already generated a ton of interest at auction. But then again, even in today’s red hot market, you simply don’t see 30+-year-old trucks with this sort of mileage total.
