During the Thanksgiving Parade in Detroit, Ford unveiled and delivered a brand new E-350 Service Truck to the Salvation Army’s Bed and Bread Club. It was done in part with the Detroit Area on Aging to help provide meals for six-thousand homebound seniors.

“We’re proud to help the Salvation Army’s Bed and Bread Club travel to those in need, because hunger never takes a holiday,” said Jim Vella, president, Ford Motor Company Fund and Community Services.

“By addressing the issue of hunger through other programs such as Ford Mobile Food Pantries, Ford Focus on Child Hunger and Meet Up and Eat Up, we are going further to create stronger communities.”

The truck goes into service this week and will provide sandwiches, fruits, beverages, soups, and snacks to city neighborhoods as part of the Bed and Bread fleet. Marathon Petroleum Corporation also joins in by providing a year of free fuel to their new E-350.
