2018 Ford Expedition Baja-Forged Adventurer: Live From L.A.!

2018 Ford Expedition

Ford and LGE-CTS Motorsports team up to create a full-size ‘ute capable of taking the entire family off-road!

We’re obviously huge fans of the Ford Raptor here at Ford Truck Enthusiasts, as well as off-roading in general. And while we await the return of our beloved Ford Bronco, we’ve also openly wondered what a beefy, trail tackling version of the full-size Expedition might look like. Well, wonder no more. Because Ford and LGT-CTS Motorsports have teamed up to build this impressive piece of machinery: the Baja-Forged Adventurer, based on the all-new 2018 Ford Expedition.

2018 Ford Expedition

We’re live at the 2017 L.A. Auto Show this week, which is exactly where we spotted this big brute. The West Coast-inspired ride is already quite the comfy and capable family hauler. And while it might not exactly be the Expedition Raptor we’ve been clamoring for, the Baja-Forged Adventurer sports some serious off-road equipment regardless.

It all starts with an ICON Vehicle Dynamics suspension system with 2-inch coil-over shocks. That setup gives the Expedition enough clearance for a set of Method Race MR309 Grid wheels wrapped in beefy 35-inch BF Goodrich Mud-Terrain T/A KM2 tires. The suspension has also been fortified with Hellwig front and rear stabilizers. And stopping this beast is a little easier thanks to a Sparta Evolution big brake system.

Once you’re out in the wild with your fortified 2018 Ford Expedition, the fun really begins. The LGE-CTS Motorsports Baja Forged bumpers and roof rack look great, for sure. But the rack also holds an ARB USA Simpson IIII tent with annex if you want to spend the night in the woods. Flip on the KC HiLites LED lighting and crack open a cold one from the ARB USA freezer/fridge, and now you’re living! Now we just need Ford to build it!

Stay tuned for more awesome Ford trucks as we bring them to you live from the L.A. Auto Show floor!
