Ford Super Duty Wins Motor Trend’s ‘Truck of the Year’ Award
Ever since we had the opportunity to head out to Colorado and be among the first no-Ford people to drive the all-new Ford Super Duty, we’ve known just what an amazing and capable truck it is. Now, that message has been amplified by one of the most respected automotive publications in the world.
Motor Trend’s yearly awards are coveted bragging rights that every manufacturer desires to win at some point, regardless of which of their vehicles it’s awarded to. That being said, for a company like Ford, the satisfaction of winning it with a new truck they’ve invested years and billions of dollars developing would only be much sweeter.
Last night, during a ceremony previous to the kickoff of the Los Angeles Auto Show, Motor Trend rounded up their group of A-list journalists to hand those awards to the respective winners. As you can tell from this article’s title, the all-new 2017 Ford Super Duty took the extremely coveted award of Motor Trend’s ‘Truck of the Year.’
While some may think that this is just a silly placard, think of just how much money competitors like Ram and Chevy spend on advertising, developing, incentives, etc. just to compete in the market, with the hopes of winning an award, too. Sorry, folks, not this year!
“We are honored to win this year’s Motor Trend Truck of the Year Award as it underscores how the all-new 2017 Ford Super Dutys are the toughest, smartest and most capable trucks we’ve ever built,” said Joe Hinrichs, Ford’s president of The Americas. “For 39 consecutive years, Ford F-Series has been America’s favorite truck, and now Motor Trend has given one of our F-Series top honors for the fifth time.”
Obviously, we couldn’t be happier to hear these news, as we believe that the new Super Duty is truly a game changer, and it will only invite the competition to step up their game, which will also make Ford take things to another level for the next generation truck.
