This 1953 Ford F-100 Delivers Both Muscle and Class
50’s Ford trucks are among the best looking vehicles ever made, as well as the ones with the most class. Those robust fenders are timeless and endearing, making them a great base for building anything from a mild hot-rod to a wild custom. But the sweet spot is somewhere in between – a truck that retains most of its classic look with a healthy dose of power added.
This 1953 F-100 certainly hits that sweet spot right in the bulls eye. Much of the exterior remains stock, because why mess with a good thing? The metallic blue paint looks great, as does the chrome and body trim. The red steel wheels with chrome caps gives the truck a great classic hot-rod look that has withstood the test of time.
The stance is just right, too. An independent front suspension, power brakes and steering make it a joy to drive, and the simple but clean interior is a great place to sit. The vinyl bench and carpet are new, and custom gauges keep you abreast of what’s going on under the hood. Which is quite a bit!
Under the hood is where the fun begins, in the form of a 460 big block Ford. The big ‘ole lump promises to get this all-steel truck down the road in a hurry, with prodigious amounts of torque even in stock form.
While fads and trends come and go, retro cool has withstood the test of time and still holds up strong today. Everybody loves the class of a 50’s Ford truck, and it’s hard to deny that this ’53 is one of the coolest ones around.
