Aftermarket Ford Bronco Hardtop Prototype Officially Completed
The very first aftermarket Ford Bronco hardtop from Advanced Fiberglass Concepts is nearly finished.
A few months ago, Advanced Fiberglass Concepts announced that it would be making an aftermarket Ford Bronco hardtop, which is huge news for a number of reasons. Most Bronco fans are well aware of the many production struggles Ford has faced thus far, driven by high demand for its modular top and all sorts of problems that its supplier for those items faced making them during the pandemic. Throw in some early quality issues, and well, it’s been a bit of a mess, to say the least. Thankfully, we’re getting one step closer to being able to buy ADC’s aftermarket Ford Bronco Hardtop, however, as the company has announced that it just completed the first prototype.
With many switching to a soft top in an effort to take delivery of their Bronco sooner, there figures to be a robust market for such an offering, particularly when we consider that Ford doesn’t currently sell its own modular hardtop as a separate item in its parts and accessories catalog – securing such a part can cost upwards of $15k at the moment, in fact.
Regardless, this prototype top has been designed from the ground up and is quite a bit different than the OEM unit, which could be a good thing given the fact that ADC notes that its piece features superior fit and finish compared to the factory top. ADC will also offer a one-piece design that features fewer pieces, which it says will result in a quieter cabin and less chance for leaks, too.
This new aftermarket top is available in three finishes – White UV Textured, Black UV textured, and High-Build Primer for those that want to color-match the roof to their vehicle, while sound deadening and the washer/wiper assembly are separate options. Prices start out at a rather lofty $5,250, but we imagine that developing such a piece from scratch wasn’t necessary an inexpensive process.

Regardless, ADC is taking pre-orders for its new Bronco top now, and will be shipping out the ones that have already been pre-ordered near the end of the year, if all goes well. For those that have been pining to add a hardtop to their SUV, it’s also the only option out there – at the moment.
