Key Chain Fob

If you went to your local Ford dealer in 1948 to buy a new Ford Truck, when they handed you the keys would they have been attached to a fancy "Ford" Key chain fob?
If so, what do they look like?

I actually found one in the crud under the dash of my 52. I'll have to get a pic.

This was a little ball of rust up in the bottom inner lip of the dash near the glove box.

If one was included, it would have been something the individual selling dealer would have made and given away. Most likely would have had the dealership name and location on it, as a way to remind one who to go back to for service and parts. Ford itself would not have provided it, it was up to the dealership to do it on their own.
The little aluminum tag in the post above was the tag that was included on the keys for the buyer to write down or key in case keys were lost. They could just order a new key based on the number. Those would have been included on every new vehicle purchase, but they were not intended to be kept with the keys.

Key chains/fobs

My Grandfather had a few similar to the pics below during the 40's & 50's.
I have them tucked away....somewhere

Here's a cool one.

I wonder how high it goes...I'm guessing not much further than 15

Can you put a tape measure along with the tag size and angle of the offset? Also what size lettering is used, Anything on the back side? I would like to make one for my truck

Here ya go. Probably more detail than you wanted but, I had a dial caliper handy. I was bending tubing so I had an angle finder too.

Here is one that I have. I am not sure what year it is. I know the Mercury emblem was used at least thru '48. It does have a GM key in it, I will have to correct that.
