Hi guys. I ordered my 2016 about as basic as they come. The radio is a plain Jane AM-FM and nothing else. I have a brand new '16 F250 upgrade radio as seen in the photos. I was able to install it, but no luck. The large plug and antenna wires have mating harness pieces, unfortunately the wire colors and positions are different! The faceplate lights up and that's all.
Anyone know a work-around or the availability of a harness adapter? I've searched everywhere I could think of.
Thanks.
This is the radio I want to install. Keep in mind I have no steering wheel radio controls in my basic XL.
Thanks SparkyAl! I assume that is the diagram for the updated radio? All I need now is the diagram for the basic radio and I'm all set. This is a great start.
I found a couple more drawings that may apply(attached). It appears from the titles that the drawings for AM/FM and AM/FM/CD are pretty much the same. The other drawings I have are all for the 8" Sony touch screen, which isn't installed in my XL.
May have something to do with sync compatible or not. I have that radio out of my 2012 XLT that is sync compatible. I'll sell it if that solves your problem.
Hold on, your saying Ford has TWO dash wire harnesses....one for a basic truck and one for a "fancy" truck just because of the DANG RADIO!!! Powe're + is one color, front speaker + is another color... I don't see a reason to have nine different color schemes for xl to xlt to fx4 to lariat etc. No wonder these truck cost 60+ thousand nowadays
Here are the numbers and connections. Maybe your dealer can tell you. Also, have you thought about asking a pro to do it? Shouldn't cost more than a Benjamin.
That's the same radio I have in my '16 xl(at least the same front). But I have the steering wheel control that also gets me sync. I'm betting you have to have sync to run that radio.

Ditto... My sync connection feeds the aux input and all of the engine info is displayed on the speedo screen.
