Radio install problem
I have a 2006 FORD F150 Harley Davidson. I am leaving in Europe , FRANCE and i my country it's not possible to use correctly the radio and impossible to use the satellite.
So the only solution i have is to change the Radio and install a new radio with big screen and satellite include.
The problem i have: The connectors are for USA radio use and in Europe there are other connectors with the radio. So i am looking for a connector fix on the FORD Connector car and fix on the European Radio connector.
If not possible, then the only solution is to cut all cable and connect directly the cable from the radio to the cable from the car. But in that way, i don't have the wire diagram with the colors.
Could something help me?
Thank you
eric
Are you looking to add an aftermarket radio, or stock Ford radio? I find it hard to believe that Ford would use a different radio wiring harness, so the stock European radio should just plug in. If not you should be able to buy a Schosche FD23 radio harness and use it to wire up any kind of radio you want. The colors and corresponding values will be marked on the packaging for the FD23.
Yes my Ford is coming from North America.
The plug in Europe is different then in America, so if you buy a Kenwood in Europe, the plug will be different then the same radio you buy in America.
The radio which was in the truck is good quality but it can't find the Sirius satellite as it below only for America.
So if i want to use a radio with GPS i need to change the radio.
If you are staying with a Ford radio I have to believe everything would be plug and play. The European Ford radio, and European Sirius box would just need to be swapped out. Actually it wouldn't suprise me if all you needed to have done is have the radios reprogrammed to look for the European frequencies instead of American ones. I'm not sure if the dealer would be able to do this, or if you would have to contact the manufacturer of the radio.
