2015 parking brake issue

Hey all, so my wife drove my truck and set the parking brake. The truck sat overnight and the parking brake light now stays on, even though the brake is disengaged. My first thought is something is frozen since it is -2 outside. Took a five minute look and quit cause the cold. Anyone have ideas of where to start?

I'd set it and release it a bunch of times just to see if that resets it

Pull the release and lift up on the pedal , if it turns off the light you may have a bad or sticky switch. The cables could also be sticking because of the cold.

I tried this already this morning and no go. I need to try to pull the pedal up. Didn't have much time this morning, so will mess with it after work. Thanks for the thoughts.

The switch is part of the assembly under the dash, right? I didn't see any wires to it, but I am sure it is in there.

I have the same problem. When its cold out I have to release the brake, then put my foot under the e brake pedal & pull up. This almost always shuts the light off.

Off & on a bunch of times makes no difference. Lubing everything in sight makes no difference. It does go away when warm weather returns.
