Need some wiring help

hey guys, I bought the Big Rig Running light kit w/ White LED courtesy lights for my E'99 F350 and so far I was able to hook them up to my parking lamps but I dont know where to hook them up to my Dome light.....I tried to use the door jam switch (inside the door) but I couldnt get power out of the wires.....shouldn't there be a power wire? is so which one? Is there a wire under the dash that I could connect to? (this would be my easist option) Thanks for the help.

Jim (megawatt) should be able to help you with this one. He's the resident electrical guru.

are you just looking for a signal wire, or do you need something that can carry the extra load of the lights?

Posted a PDF of the Courtesy Light Wiring Diagram in my photo album: https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/p...ictureid=45863
Edit: That worked about as well as finding the wire by peeing on it to see if it's hot.

The diagram says there should be a Blue/Black wire running to the Door Courtesy Lamps on both sides that should be hot when the Interior Lamp Relay is activated.

The diagram also says you should have an Orange/Lt Green wire feeding the Dome Light through the GEM that's always hot.

Im looking for a wire that will make the lights come on when I open up the door so I believe it has to be 12V to power the lights but only come on when the door opens and/or when the dome light is activated

Those black/lt blue wires in the kick panels should be the ones.

Relays aren't needed, as these wires are fed by a relay already. It is fed by Fuse #14 in the under-dash fuse panel.

They are used for the running board lights on the Excursions.
