4" or 5" Oval tube step bars

I will be picking up my new 2010 Black FX4 soon and opted out of the chrome tube steps. Because I want Black one, just like my 04 had. Ford only offers the chrome one's.

Does anyone know were I could get a set for the 2010 in black? Maybe in the Watertown or Syracuse area, I just live outside of Kingston Ontario.

Well, there are a many number available.
Like you, I prefer black as it's easy to touch up after a ding with tremclad paint or whatever.

Things to keep in mind;
- make sure they don't mount the bars too close to the cab (Ford's own models are mounted WAY too close and you can slip on them) I would demand at least a 5" clearance between bar and rocker-panel.
- if you get powder-coated, expect to paint them within a year (no biggie).
- up to you if you want steps on them but if so, get the ones with the molded recess and step as opposed to cut out and attached steps (rust).
- if you have extended cab, get full length. My bars have provided excellent protection from side impact above and beyond convenience as steps.

Just my thoughts.

Why not just spend a little more money order the black tube steps for your truck from the dealer. Just because they are not available on a particular package doesn't mean that they won't bolt right up.

As for coating them, I would have them line-X'd.

I had a set of Westin's on mine. They were all black.

Westin Signature Series Step Bars

Appears to be chrome in the pic but I bet they still come in black.

I got my Black Step Bars from the Dealer. Same size/style as the Chrome, but a black powder-coat texture on the tube.
