Well, aftermarket is fine and all, but what does DANA make for it?

Funny you should ask. My point in trying to really nail it down is at some point I want gears and lockers and so I wanted to see what exactly I had. I didn't really think the F250/F350 had a Super 60. I thought it was a typo or something. So, in doing a bit of research I realize I sure do have a Super 60 and if I want the larger gears I can find exactly what I want 4.88 or 5.38, made by Dana/Spicer and the larger 10". So, when/if I do go with lower gearing I should be able to get the stock Ford parts for a F450/F550 for my F250 equipped Super 60.

So the Super 60 10" gears are only available in 4.88 and 5.13? I read online you could get a Super 60 from Ford Racing in 4.30s. '05 and up all have the Super 60 housings I read, but they don't all have the 10" gears. The bigger gears would definitely be the way to go with a lift and big tires.

Sorry cartmanea, yes, they are available in 4.30. I have the 4.30 Super 60 in my stock truck. If I go with lower gears I'll go with 4.88 or 5.38 which Ford/Dana offers in the larger Super 60 10".

Only the 2005+ V10 trucks with 4.30 or the PSD dually (Tow Boss with 4.30 gearing) has the Super 60 with the larger 10" gears. I don't know if the housings are all the same or not...I didn't think to check that.

The Super 60 is basically under all the Super Dutys with 4.30 and lower (numerically higher) gears. If you have a Super Duty with 4.30 you have the Super 60. If you have a F450 or F550 you have a Super 60.

If you change gears, let me know what you want for your 4.30s and whether its a 10" D60R or just the 9.75".

There is a small roller bearing on the inside of the hub/bearing assembly that guides the axle, it is the only bearing moving on the axle shaft. Other than that it could be your wheel bearing assembly. Where you have the yellow circle, there is only a dust seal.

I am assuming it's not available on the SRW PSD because they don't have an option of 4.30's?

Weird.

Exactly. The SRW PSD didn't have the 4.30 so it didn't have the Super 60. Super 60 was 4.30 and up.

well i spent a good part of the day yesterday i just replaced the wheel hub assembly so thats taken care of the bearing on there was definitly shot. where the yellow x is there is play like something "should" be there and where the yellow circle is the dust cap is out..assuming i just push it back in then. wasnt sure if that was a seal or a bearing behing it.. my truck is a srw f350 sd 2004.. this is why ive always come to u all over the years for advice.. plus i love doin my own work.. hopefully one day i have a garage big enough to put my beast..lol

My Dana 50 will hold 950 lbs. of plow. That's got to count for something.

This is getting interesting for me, especially I'm in the lookout for a used Super 60 axle to put under my Class A Motorhome 4x4 conversion. So if either the 2005-up F250/350/450/550 have the Super 60, do they all have the same LENGTH axle? Does anyone here knows the WMS-WMS of a Super 60 DRW? I need one that is as wide as it can be.
