New EX, crooked steering wheel

Hello everyone, I just purchased a 2000 Ex Limited 2WD V10 with 167,000 miles on it. Truck is surprisingly good, one major complaint is, the steering wheel is 90 degrees off and it is driving me crazy! The previous owner had to have changed something in the front end, because it drives too great for all original, and they must have screwed something up. Alignment shop let me down, said it was too far out to straighten with just an alignment.

So my question/thinking: I'm gonna try to remove and re-align the steering wheel, cause something tells me that is the culprit. Has anyone had a similar problem? Am I on the right track? Thanks in advance! New to the forum and LOVE it!!

Get another shop that isn't lazy. It can be adjusted you just have to readjust the placement of the tie rod end in the sleeves. One or more are probably not evenly placed to get clean placement.Tie rod ends should have even threads in sleeves on each adjusting area. It could also be that the pitman arm was removed and reinstalled off (not sure if they are"keyed" but assume they are).

Well.... I'm not very proud of how I did it, but I am stoked with the results. I simply pulled the wheel and re-aligned it! So hopefully my next tow this week with our camper will be a lil better!

Now that this is done, I can move forward with the EX wear I want it!
