My 460 needs to be HEARD!

Recently put a mildly-built 466ci into my F150 with fenderwell-exit headers. Now, I need to finish off my exhaust so I can finally put her back on the road. I already got my length of pipe and turn-down's...now I just need some mufflers.

There will be no X, H, or whatever-pipe, just true 2.5" duals from the 3" headers.

I want this thing to rumble at idle, and have a DEEP, strong sound to it. Not deaf-ly loud as the cops around here don't like that. I also don't want the pops and backfires that you hear on de-acceleration like on straight pipes. A little bit of crackle is OK, and to be expected with what I'm doing and have to work with.

I know I'll get lots of responses for Flowmaster...but what about Magnaflow, Borla, Goerlich, etc...?

I'm not trying to break the bank either since I will have to buy 2 of them...

Thanks!

*EDIT*
I looked at the Flowmaster 30 series delta flow...but they have nothing in the 2.5" range. I had a Super 40 on my '97 F150 and it was too quiet (although it was only a 4.6L)

After some searching, I'm leaning towards the Flowmaster 40 Series Delta Flow Race muffler.

Magnaflow doesn't have much in the loudness department, until you get into the single-chamber race mufflers...which would probably be a little too loud.

And Borla...well...$$$

Well. I ordered some Goerlich single chambers. Got some pipe and turn-outs from a local muffler shop, and got everything under the truck and tacked together tonight. She should sound pretty good, and look good to boot!

The Magnaflows on my Mustang are sure as heck loud. It's just a straight-through perforated pipe with stainless packing. True 2 1/4" duals - you can definitely hear it at idle and it freaking howls at full throttle. Of course, the 292 cam has something to do with that.

I got them all welded up and bolted on last night. They are held up with jackstands in the rear as I still have to make some hangers. Lets just say, she sounds great so far! Great rumble at idle, and sounds like a stock car at 4-5k.

I can't wait to hear it out on the road!

Yea take a lot if you can of the full setup. I wanna see how headers fit around everything in those 70's trucks.

The headers are tight, but they don't touch anything. The passenger side header is just a hair away from the body mount though. Slightly tugging on it will get it to touch.
