i have an 88 ford f150 with a straight 6(300) and im not savy at all with this exhaust junk soo....
when i bought the truck i had a rusted out muffler and pipe so it got cut off along with 1 of the cats.... so now i have 1 cat and enough pipe coming off to meet the front of my bed.... now i want a nicer system put in but im not sure wut to do....
1 problem i do have is my cat smokes alot for awhile after a long/hard drive.... should i just take it off and clean it or put a new 1 on? or should i just replace it or take it off and go with a straight muffler....
my other question is... does anyone know of a really nice sounding muffler i could buy not too pricey.... im looking for basically a harley sound... the nice deep sound but not too loud....
thanks in advance
EDIT: anyone who read this original post sorry it didnt make any sense really before... i was really tired when i typed it out so i figured this might do a bit better

well i'm not an exhaust expert by any means, and I can't comment on what to do about the cats. As far as mufflers go i'd run a single exit with a long glasspack. i've always loved the way a 300 sounds with that setup, but thats just my oppinion.
Replace the cat with a new universal three way. Older exhaust systems used two two-way cats, so you'd just need the one three way anyway.
+1 on checking youtube, everyone has a different opinion on what sounds good. I've never gotten people who think Flowmasters sound good, but plenty of folks do...
