2008 F150 Headlight Question

I did some searching but I did not find what I was looking for. I want to install a headlight relay kit on my truck but I have heard that this will not work and cause problems. Apparently the computer will sense that one is installed and cause issues. The headlights on my pickup are not really all that bright no matter what bulb is installed. Does anyone have any ideas on what I could do? I may start looking at the grounds but it is a 2008. I should not have a problem with those this quickly, but I could have. Anything? Thanks!

Strange! Not sure exactly what your problems is you shouldn't of had to replace any bulbs in them yet. You could always install a whole new light kit on the truck. Of course that does have a cost that goes along with it but its an easy install

I installed aftermarket HID lights on my 2000 F150 and was quite impressed with the results. (Loads of light) Very easy to do unless you start getting into the HALO add ons. Then the wiring can get tricky if your not handy with such things. Other than that I agree with Coskid. You shouldn't be having the problems you're experiencing on an 08.

The stock lights suck.....period....

If you wanna improve them with standard bulbs....the phillips crystal vision ultras are a great improvement....

If you don't mind a bit extra work.......I put in a set of retro-solutions.com HID's and couldn't be happier....i'll never go back to regular bulbs...

The Silverstars are a big improvement over the standard bulbs, but they fade over time. I installed HIDs and they are nice and don't cost that more than a set of Silverstars. However, buyer beware as many HID vendors are fly by night outfits that offer crappy Chinese products and even worse customer service.

Been away for awhile but thanks for the replies everyone! I still am not sure what to do. I think that I am going to get a meter and see what voltage I have at the lights and go from there. I also noticed that there is a difference in brightness on the low beams when I go from the Auto setting on the switch to the the Manual setting. The low beams, not the high beams, get brighter when I do this. I take it the voltage drop comes from having to go through another relay or something similar but I would really like the lights to be brighter without having to use an expensive bulb. Anyone else have any suggestions?

There are plenty of manufatures out there that make headlights or try the projection headlights out there. APC makes a projection light so does Anzo. I just bought some Putco bright white bulbs for about 30 bucks. I think the guy was trying to sell me those 92 dollar PIAA bulbs and when he did a side by side comparrison the cheaper Putco's where a lot brighter. They also came with a 1 year warranty.
