2000 F150 Headlight Problem

The brightness level suddenly went down on the left headlight. I replaced the bulb but that still did not correct the problem. I have no idea what might be causing this problem. Any advice would be appreciated.

Low brightness is low voltage.
A ground issue perhaps dropping to much voltage accross it from the current flowing.
Each side has a seperate fuse so it's not normally a fuse doing this.
At the poor ground point, voltage accross the poor connection goes up as the resistance goes up.
When it approches about half the system voltage or 12/2 = 6 volts the lamp dims from half the voltage it should have..
Good luck.

Check the ground wire from the bulb back to where it grounds, then clean the ground connections.

check the plug that plugs into the bulb. Also is the lense hazy or have water built up in it?

The "fix" is to find and repair the high resistance in the circuit. Most commonly, it is a corroded connection.

The plug that plugs on to the bulb itself is common failure especially if high wattage bulbs are used.
