Help. I installed a plow on my 2008 F-250 SD and installed an additional set of relays for the new headlights into the plow wiring harness the wrong way!
The wiring harness came out of and '05 F-250 that I sold. The only difference was that I had to install 2 additional relays for the new headlights on the new truck to work. They did work but then I lost the low beam headlights last week. The high beams work fine but no lows on either the truck or plow. I checked the relays and corrected the problem and still no low beams. I checked all of the plow wiring harness relays and everthing there is fine. I checked the two 10 amp low beam headlight fuses in the truck fuse panel and they are fine. I cannot find the cause. is there a fusible link or a circuit breaker etc. that may control the low beams? Could the dimmer switch on the steering column be bad? Any information would be greatly appreciated.
Did you visually check the fuse or actually test it. Sometimes its hard to tell if they're blown or not. The fuses are the only thing protecting the low beams for safety reasons. Its also why there are two fuses, so if one blows, you still have another light. Check the relays out too to make sure they're still working.
Trevor, thanks for your quick reply. I did check the fuses with my meter and yes they are fine. The relays that I checked are in the plow wiring harness and yes I swapped each one around and yes all 6 of them are working fine. I could not find any relays on the truck itself for the headlights, Are there any on the truck ?

I'm not familiar with the 08's. Only other thing I can think of is to start checking for voltage on the harness. Does this one plug into the OEM headlight plugs? If it does, check to see if you have power there. No power there would probably mean somethings up with the headlight switch, which should be covered under warranty.
