sync with ipod

Is there a way of using the sync usb port with an Ipod or Iphone and being able to control the songs and playlist from the navigation screen? Also is there a way of loading my ipod songs on to the jukebox? When i try it tells me that the file songs have to be in the root directory. How do I change my ipod or itune songs to a root directory so I can upload them into my jukebox? thanks in advanced.

I use the iPhone with the Sync system all the time. When using it through the USB port, you can call up playlists, activate/deactivate shuffle, play a specific album or artist, etc... When using an iPhone, you have to buy a cable that works specifically for the iPhone. As for iPod, I'm not sure what your issue is there, Sync should automatically index all the songs on your iPod. Is your iPod Jailbroken/hacked in any way? That could be an issue...

I thought that they had it setup to where you couldn't upload MP3s to the Jukebox. Usually they want you to put in a commercial CD and upload songs(or stories) that way. That's something I've noticed accross the board though and I'm pretty sure about why that is as well.

Have you read this page?

Reagrding the HDD - tex is correct; you must load songs from an audio CD. The process is explained in the owner's manual.

I have a question about navigation when my ipod is sync'ed.

Here is an example:

Music Library > Genre > Hair Metal > Poison > All Albums.

This lists all songs from Poison that I have on my Ipod. Now when I select a song the screen switches to the play menu. How do I get back to a listing of Poison songs from here? How can I go back to a list of the bands under the genre “Hair Metal”? There is no “back” button from the play screen.

I have to cycle back through again by hitting Music Library > Genre > Hair Metal. This stinks. Does anyone know of a short cut or “back” button?

Now I realize that there is a back button in the bottom right corner while going through the different menus, but once you go to the play screen in order to get back to where you were you have to cycle all the way back through the menu again.
