Ford Sync Question

Wow, it has been awhile since I've been here.

I bought a new 2009 F150 on Friday (picts coming soon) and it has Microsoft Sync. I got it hooked up with my iPod and love the results.

My question has to do with if I start at the beginning of my playlist and keep listening to the songs then turn the pickup off. I turn the pickup back on and it will pick up where I left off on the song it was playing. However, when I press the next song button, it only goes to the next song by that particular artist and it will repeat the song if it is the only one by that artist. I can't make it go through the rest of the songs without saying "play all" but then it goes back to the first song on the iPod and I have to shuffle back through all the songs I've heard already to get back into place.

What command do I have to say to get it to play all songs from where I left off?

Hope this makes sense, thanks.

I have not been here in a long time, but I am going to be getting an 09 this week and have a question about the Sync system. Could you put a flash drive with music and run it off of that?

You can add a hard drive, MP3 player or flash drive via the USB. There is also a USB2 mod here you can add an extra cable add hide a hard drive up somewhere.

Did you try saying the shuffle command? Then it should start playing different artists.

I tried using my flash drive and it did not recognize any media device. Is there a particular way you have to load the music to the flash or attach the device to the Sync?

You should just plug it in then select USB and you should be able to select the files you have in there. As long as the files show when it's plugged into a pc then they should play on your radio.

I have noticed the same thing. I believe it will skip only to the album it was on when you turned off the truck. I will have to check it out to make sure.

It does work if I say shuffle, but then it plays songs at random and not in the order they are on the ipod. I just like to know the order of the songs so I know what's coming up. Maybe I just need to stop being picky.

Mine does that exact same thing but not all the time. I went for a couple of weeks with it working fine and then yesterday it started acting up again. After starting the truck it will only play songs by the same artist that was last playing when the truck was shut off.

I thought I had it fixed by turning off shuffle in Sync and leaving shuffle turned on in the iPod. It seems like every few days I have to mess around with Sync and my iPod to get it working. Sometimes when I start the truck the display shows that a song should be playing but I get no sound so I have to unplug the iPod and then plug it back in. Maybe it's because I have the iPod connected to a USB cable that I ran to the console from the USB2 port?
