EGADS!! It's following me! O+++O

This is what I'll be seeing for a six hour drive on Friday, hope my old heart can take the shock:

I going up to the Minneapolis area to pick up another '37 Buick and to help defray the cost of the trip I'm taking my neighbor's '52 to his son's house just this side of the WI/MN border and then onto Minneapolis. I'll have to see this manure spreader in my rear view mirror for six hours! I feel I'll be doing my part to beautify my neighborhood Oh what I don't go through for the old car hobby.

Actually this is helping out a great deal. I told my neighbor I wanted to get this other parts car because it was a great deal but since business has been so dead for the last couple of months I didn't think I could justify the cost for gas. He asked a week or so later if I was still going and if I'd take his truck to his son's house and they'd pay for the gas. Sometimes things just fall into place. So far with a little wheeling and dealing, selling and trading the Buick hasn't cost me much at all. I'm trying to build this car with a very small budget doing all the work I can myself and devising ways of cutting costs by rebuilding as many parts as I can.

There's a pair of '52 F1's for $800 up here, if you want to offset more costs, lol.

I love it when the wheelin' and dealin' all falls into place. The only downside is having that bucktoothed behemoth glaring at you the whole way.

Good luck on the trip and be safe
Bobby

If only I coud figure a way to stack them on top of the Buick.

Bobby, thanks, I have my wife coming along as my navigator. I actually convinced her to come along and leave her babies, one 19 the other 17.

After six hours of subliminal messages into his right eyeball saying just how beautiful that truck is, I predict Bob will have a new found appreciation for buck teeth, and will want a manure spreader of his very own, upon his return.

Enjoy your drive, Bob!

PARTYYYYYYYYYYY AT BOB'S HOUSE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I've had more than enough monkey faces looking at me through the rear mirror. Everytime I looked back, I got a bit frightened.

You'll probably get more thumbs up with that fine 52 on the trailer than you would with any monkey face.

I wouldn't be surprised if you fall in love with the best looking truck designed after your roadtrip.

Ah the fate of Irony!

Hey Bob would you do me a favor? Would you ask the owner of the red 52, your neighbor, what year and make of sunvisor that is on it. It looks almost like a 52-54 Ford car but he would have had to cut it to make it fit. I'm curious!

Thanks

I'll be leaving in a few minutes, just trying to brace my self for the long journey. It'll probably be like taking a cross country trip with the mother-in-law. I'll just have to try to ignore it the best I can.

Ilya,

I think if it gets to be a distraction I'll cover the back window with a blanket or piece of cardboard.

Here's another idea I came up with:

Julie, Bob,

I doubt my neighbor will know what the visor came from. I think he picked it up a swapmeet. I think he told me once he did cut a piece out of the center to make it fit. I'll ask him about it when I get back.

Kevin,

I'm delivering the truck to my neighbor's son's house tonight. His son is a surgeon, maybe if I explain the trauma I endured in my trip maybe he could slip me some happy pills But on the other hand, he's a Manure Spreader fan and we all know how twisted they are

BTW, If any of you Manure Spreader owner want to use the "O+++O" go ahead, anything I can do to make your life better. Us "Monkey Faces" are happy enough.

Here Bob,

If this makes you feel more "At Home" then just scotch tape this pic to your mirror. Then it won't blow off in the wind:

I made it back, no worse for wear. Every time I looked back that damn truck was there! I only had to endure it for about 7/16 of the trip. On the way back I got to started at a front clip-less '37 Buick. It helped cleanse my mind
