power window problem...

ok i just recently installed a cd player in my 1992 f250 lariat xlt,
i did not cut the harness i went out and bought the adapter.
everything is wired up and working great.

the issue is now my power windows and lock stopped working, i did install new door speakers and ran new speaker wire, and on the new cd player i wired all the wires except the ( dimmer, and power antenna). i have checked the under dash fuzes ( self reseting ) and seem to be fine, mind you the fuzes are not blowing.

im thinking hook up the factory deck and see if thats the problem, i believe some newer vehicles use the radio as a relay centre.

i will let you know if i have any power at the fuze box, or even at the window control,

FYI i did not cut a single wire or factory plug.

thanks all

Check the wiring on the back of the window/door lock switch. You may have unplugged it or loosened it. Do you have power mirrors, and do they work? If not switch plug. Check your fuses again too. They don't reset themselves only relays do that.

When you put the new speakers in the doors did you remove the entire door panel? If you did remove it did you unplug the window/door lock switch or did you just push it thru the door panel and leave it hooked up? Maybe you forgot to plug it back in OR knocked it loose when you pushed it thru the door panel to get it off then again to get it on. Been there done that. The radio doesn't do anything for the windows & door locks (there were radio delete options) and I've replaced quite a few factory radios and they did not cause the trouble your having. It's either a connection or a fuse not the radio, and like you said you didn't cut any wires just added the speaker wires.

Mine is a '97 Diesel so I don't know if all the fuses/breakers are the same but... Interior fuse box: (#8) 15amp Fuse-dome & ctsy lts, mirrors, speedo, keyless entry, buzzer/chime; (#12) 20amp CB-pwr loks, pwr seat, pwr lumbar; (#14) 20amp CB-pwr windows; Engine compartment fuse box: (#17) 50amp maxi fuse-pwr to interior box #2,6,11,14,17 & engine box #22; (#20) 50 amp maxi fuse-pwr to interior box #4,8,12, & 16.
So I don't see any way the two are related electrically except through the connector in the door. Even the redundant fuses & breakers keep them seperate. Hope this helps.
