My brakelights, emergency flashers, and powerpoint don't work. I suspected that I'm not getting 12V to the fuze panel since these are unswitched systems. I found a 12V source and when I plug it into one side of the brakelight pigtail (from the back of the fuze panel), the powerpoint works and the flashers work, but not the brakelights. When I put the 12V lead into the other side of the brakelight pigtail, the brakelights come on but the flashers and powerpoint don't work. This tells me that I'm not getting 12V to the two 15amp fuzes in question. Can anybody tell me how best to trace back toward the firewall to find out where the break is? Could the 30Amp fuze in the power distribution box that feeds the trailer brake relay be involved? I've searched all the places I can see easily and cannot find any indication of a broken wire, bad fusible link, or anything. Can anybody help??
Had misc light related/type incidents happening a lot lately........especially on tilt wheel trucks. To ascertain if the problem is broken wires or pulled out connections lift the tilt wheel to the upper most position, if things work better then start looking where the harness connects at the MFS multi function switch. This may not be exactly your problem but hazards are involved on the steering column.
I just had basically the same problem.I have a Haynes manual the details a test procedure for the multi-function switch, mine tested bad.I replaced the switch(47.00 at Autozone),fixed my problem.LOL.
