Did you run it on that tank? was the tank empty? If it were my truck I would fill the other tank up full and run on that. then siphon as much as possible outa the ethanol tank then fill that one up full with diesel to dilute it and put a little lubricity in it like 2 stroke oil bioD or what you usually use. then sneak into it with your dash switch. you should be ok keep it real full for a while

dont run on that. drain the tank. if you already ran a little on it, empty the fuel bowl also and drain the fuel rails in the heads. Close the fuel rails, fill the fuel bowl with fresh diesel and get it running.
I may even try do empty the fuel lines. But it may be ok just doing the above.

Gas and alcohol even more so, is very dry, burns hotter and ignites earlier (lower flash point)...very bad for your diesel. We trashed and engine in a farm tractor once because the fuel we had delivered had gas in it...not 85% by any means, but a few tanks ruined the motor.

If it was regular gasoline I wouldn't be too concerned about it. You'd just have to keep topping it off with diesel to blend it down.

Siphon out of the E85 the best you can and top it off with diesel.

Having driven across the country recently and now moved to a new land, I can say that in California we had green handles for diesel. Yellow started to be common in the midwest. Here in Ontario, they are black. I've since given up on color and read the pump 3 times before I start pumping.

Even reading the pump is no guarantee. A couple years ago in Albuquerque a fuel depot that fills the tank trucks that deliver to gas stations screwed up bigtime. They contaminated gasoline with diesel fuel and delivered it to about a hundred stations. Cars were breaking down everywhere. Repairs ran between $500 and $1000 for each car, which was paid for by the fuel company - by raising prices of course!!

Yeah, It can really ruin a diesel engine if there is a small amount of gas that gets to the engine. You could try to dillute it, but I would not chance it. There is an amazing amount of damage that can be done to a diesel if ran on gasoline. Try to get as much gas as posible out. I agree with the guy above. Just do what ever you can to prevent premature damage to your engine.

Must have been a BP station, i did the same thing a few month back in Virginia only it was gas. There was a garage next door that siphoned all the gas out and refilled with diesel, had no problem.

I agree with farm69 about the regular thing. Not sure about ethanol. Our trucks can be run on up to 30% gas as recommended for extremely cold climates. I really don't see why ethanol would be that much different. It actaully has less energy per gallon than petroleum. Do what you figure is best for you. I'd just fill the rest of the tank up with diesel and run it. I've blended many times in my PSD and tractor for the winter. Running on straight or really high concentration gas is very bad, however 2 gallons on a tank of 15 gallons is still only 13% gas.

Exactly right, up to 30% and it should run just fine.

thank you all,
right after finding out that i pumped wrong fuel, i switched to rear tank and run on that. The front tank has about 5 gallons of diesel left when i pumped 2 gallons of 85% ethanol fuel.
just for caution, i think i gonna drain the tank and fill it up with diesel when the weather here in Niagara Falls NY get warmmer.
I really appreciated all.

I would just fill it with diesel and add 1/2 gallon of ashless 2cycle wal-mart engine oil to fuel tank and run it. Just my .02

Well, good to hear. Well done. Hoping you didn't loose an engine from this. I've seen that one too many times.
