hypermax turbo

thinking bout the h2e and was wondering if it's a good turbo. what kind of difference can i expect if i put one in without doing injectors for now. Also is it hard to put in yourself? one more thing do i need an intercooler right away?

From what I understand about the H2E, its a great turbo for higher horsepower applications. Not really sure if there is an advantage to it with stock injectors.

You shouldn't see much of anything for monoosg frmbour puny stock Injectors but you will b set up for the future with bigger injectors and won't ha e to worry about toasting it. You'll move more air so your egts will be much cooler. It would be wise to do an intercooler but not positive if it's a must

There's a series of supporting mods that you should have before you drop in a H2E. This turbo is a considerable upgrade from the stock one. Items such as an intercooler, injectors, bigger oil/fuel and needed to really see the full potential/efficiency of the charger.

With a stock setup, I'd imagine that it would quite laggy.

You could just drop it in and not necessarily need an intercooler. It would give you more lag and it would be harder to spool with the stock injectors.

What you need to determine is what will be the final setup you are wanting to achieve. If you don't plan on getting any bigger than stage I injectors I would suggest a D66 turbo. If you see stage II's in the future then by all means get an H2e. I did and love it. I had mine modified also to accept a bigger wheel. An intercooler is put in there to keep things cool. If you go with stage II's you will need it for sure. An intercooler is a supporting mod to allow cooler egt's.

Do us a favor and tell us what you would like to see in your truck when you are done with it and we can give you better recommendations and suggestions.

Another thing is that is sounds like from your first post that you want to just drop it in... its not really as simple as pulling our turbo and putting in the H2E. It is a whole kit that has a new pedistal and all the other install goodies, click on Neal's H2E install in his link and you will see just what is involved with installing an H2E into an OBS.

These are all good points. It really depends on where you are going with the truck. If you want stage II's or bigger, the H2E is going to be great. If your not going that big I would look into a D66 turbo which will be a direct replacement for the stock turbo IIRC.
