stop lamp switch

Where is this located? Is it under the hood in the power distribution block, or in the fuse panel in the truck? OR Would this simply be the switch on the brake pedal?

I'm trying to hook up a electronic brake controller and not sure where to hook up the red wire off the controller too.

Two circuits on the stop lamp switch.

One is for the cruise control, one is the brake lights.

Well I figured out the clip on the brake does have two wires. The top one I accidentally grounded and popped my stop/hazzard fuse. I take it the bottom wire is for cruise control. But my directions on the electronic brake controller says to hook it to the "non powered stoplight wire" Would this mean hook it to the bottom wire (cruise control wire)???

Use your test light and find out which wire is cold when the pedal is NOT pressed (no braking) and hot when the pedal IS pressed (braking). That is the wire you want to use. Once you get it hooked up, test out the trailer brake box by pressing the brakes. There should be a light on the box that will light up when the pedal is pressed. And just to make sure. Activate your cruise and make sure the light doesnt light up!
