aod not shifting right

so i was running late yesterday and was knocking a hole in floor and then after a WOT shift from 1st to 2nd it started shifting weird. the shifts from 1 to 2 and 2 to 3 are very short, like it wants to down shift a low rpms. i thought i just knocked the tv cable out of adjustment. after tightening it up still the same symptoms, but wouldnt go into OD even at highway speeds. so i moved the cable back some and still 1-2 and 2-3 shifts are still short, and 3-4 shifts as it normally does.

im stumped on this one...otherwise there are no other strange noises or vibrations, and no slipping. im worried these short shifts may burn up the tranny, and praying that i dont need a rebuild

What do you mean by short shifts, they are really quick or early as in upshifting at low speeds and throttle input?
