Coolant Filter Brackets ...

I'm going to pop on one of the Dieselsite coolant filter set-up's here soon. Looking at the bracket sold with the kit, I can already imagine it being "fun" to change.

I've seached around and found folk that have fabricated brackets that come off the alternator ... these seem much easier to access.

Can anybody post pics of your custom brackets? Here are some that I found:

Type 1:

Type 2:

I have the dieselsite coolant kit installed it's really not bad changing the filter. I do recommend adding the valves from dieselsite or pick them up at Lowes or Home Depot so that you can close them while changing the filter. Makes it a cleaner job with no loss on coolant.

I have probably changed my filter at least a half dozen times and have not had a problem yet. Get the ball valves on the inlet and outlet and it will be a cleaner change experience.

I will be installing a coolant filter from Dieselsite soon on my friends truck so I will have to see what they offer for a bracket. I did mine from scratch before any kits were offered and I still like my mounting bracket so far.... Not to bust anyone but that third picture down is a nightmare.....I used Aeroquip push on fittings, no butt ugly clamps lurking to scale back your hand and actually laid it out with direction in mind. I never added ball valves because it doesn't hardly drain any amount of fluid while installing a new filter.

The only issue I have is snaking the filter in/out around the a/c, CAC and coolant lines. You can get them out...it just the filter takes up the available space.

After looking at Maxium4X4 photo...gosh, I wish I had connectors like that. What does it look like were the coolant goes back into the degas bottle?

I've had no problems at all changing this or any other filter on the 6.0.

Don't guess you've got photos of the T fitting? The one I've got from DieselSite uses those ugly screw-hose clamps.

No I don't have, I just used Aeroquip fittings which are push on. When the Dieselsite kit arrives for my friend we may change the fittings, have not seen it yet. I just preferred the fittings over the old clamp on for a cleaner install, nothing wrong with the old way of doing things it still gets the job done.
