John, looks good! I see what you mean, nice and clean look, just what you are going for.
Coincidentally I was stripping the cab on my 51 yesterday and can’t imagine doing what you did without a glove box opening, ……………mine is staying!

Looks good from here.Still need to work out some details around the firewall exit?
Are you comfortable with the method you used to mount the case? any "modifications" to VA's supplied brackets?
I really like the smooth dash and dash extension..Looks great!

No, I didn't modify any of the brackets that came with the kit, I did shorten the defrost duct which allowed me to get it into postion. At this time I don't have the other 2 tubes on the unit that exit though the firewall as I was only trying to position everything so I could finish up on the extension. I have to mark up the holes for the cover the tubes exit through and weld the nuts to the inside of the firewall. After that everything will be packed back up until there is final paint hopefully sometime this year.

Nice work,.. one thing that annoyed me with the VA kit was the black plastic cover at the firewall opening,..in hind sight, I think an oval pan recessed into(or mounted from inside) would have looked a little neater..but at the time my plate was pretty full and that never happened before paint..just a thought..Glad yo got thru it! Your going to have a Great looking Truck..Keep after it!

Hey Donald,
Can you post or PM me the source of this article. I looked through my whole stack of mags last night and couldn't find it. I was sure I had it at one time. Thanks!
