XLT or Lariat (Cloth or Leather-Heated/Cooled seats)

Purchasing a F150 soon.... The truck will be my office. I work in all weather conditions (snow/rain, etc.). My question is will the Leather -Heated/Cooled seats of a Lariat have any issues if your clothing is wet or would an XLT with cloth seats (+seat covers) be more practical.
Thanks ahead for any responses!

go all the way the first go around if you're going to be in it allot. Leather is easier to wipe off and dry when you get it wet.

I have heated leather on my 09 FX4 and one bummer is it takes a while for them to warm up....and your *** will be cold for a few unless you pre-warm them. Cloth does not seem to feel cold like leather!

Had cloth in my 2004 (used for work) - I called them the "Stain-EZ" seats. Water would stain them. This time - went with leather. If you can swing it, I think leather is the way to go - easier to keep clean.

My F-150 is a part time farm-part time "office", I have cloth with covers and no carpet. It gets dirty but cleans up easy. Every truck with carpet or leather seats had to go to the detailer to really look clean, I don't buy them that way anymore. Chris

I prefer the cloth seats. I have yet to see leather seats that havent cracked and wilted over time. Plus, unless I had both heated and cooled leather, I dont care for them because I dont like burning my butt or freezing it off, either. Sure, the leather looks awesome, but to me isn't worth the hassle.

My GF's 07 Focus has heated cloth seats. I didnt even know there were heated cloth seats until she got that car, I thought there were only heated leather. Are there any other models out there that have this?

^I think factory heated cloth is rare but maybe it will be expanded in more models soon? but sure, you can add them to cloth seats, the aftermarket heated seat kits say they are good for cloth or leather seats.

If you get cloth, then have the dealer or a local shop/you apply a scotchguard treatment to them. That will will prevent stains. I had it done by the dealer on my 04 grey cloth seats when it was brand new and the seats looked great after 5 years of use.

Leather is cold in the winter and hot in the summer when you first get in the vehicle. Cloth is more comfortable and easier to live with.

For most people....once you go heated and cooled....you won't go back!

Leather looks better; IMO, cloth is more comfortable and less money.

I used to think that cloth seats were easier to take care of, now I know better. My 2001 Excursion has leather and looks as new almost 10 years later. It's all about how you take care of your vehicle. I have dogs and would never get anything but leather. Very easy to clean up and will not stain like cloth will. Also, cloth will hold odors where leather will not. My new 2010 Lariat has leather and I expect it to be just as durable as the seats in my Ex have been. My secret to keep it clean; baby wipes. Yep, they do a great job and keep it conditioned as well (get the ones with Aloe). I keep a box in the truck at all times to wipe down the interior. Work great and cheep.

But if you've got your choice between an XLT and a Lariat, go for the Lariat.

No Choice

I wanted the 4.6 3V and to get that I had to go XLT. Finding leather as an option at the end of the year was tough......so I got cloth. If it becomes a "dirty pain" then I'll go Katzkin custom leather.
