4.9l blown head gasket

My dad bought a 1992 f150 it has 150,000 miles and wont start, the guy said the truck got hot on him. We look under the hood and the the plastic around fuel injector wiring harness and fuel injrectors clips are melted. The plastic vacuum lines where melted to but only in the middle of the motor he thinks it blown a head gasket. If the truck run hot will that cause the wiring harness and the vacuum lines to melt? should we go ahead and pull the head off and have it checkout? He also needs a new fuel injectors wiring harness what year's will fit it?

In order for that engine to get hot enough to melt those up like that it would have had to gotten very very very hot.. Does it look like there was a fire under there or something? I can't see the clips melting like that just cause it over heated. That would be a good reason why it won't start.. Your best bet would be going to a scrap yard and finding the same truck with the same motor and taking the entire wiring system. using one from a different year may not work.. as for the plastic lines you could go to autozone or something like that and buy new hoses for it.. Its cheap. $1.00 a foot or something like that.
I can't see a truck over heating to the point of melting all the wiring and fuel injector clips but then again anything is possible

Could be the engine has been worked on and the exhaust heat shield was not reinstalled.

One of the red arrows points to the heat shield and the other red arrow points to the exhaust air injection tube. That tube has 6 fittings. One for each cylinder that screw into the exhaust side of the head. The pipe gets real hot so if any wires or vacuum lines are routed improperly it could melt the connectors, wires or vacumm lines.

The heat shield is there it's not touching exhaust air injection tube but after looking at the exhaust air injection tube it has a white stain on it by where everything melted. So maybe he ran it so hot that any oil up there caught fire, his mechanic said it has a blown a head gasket.

If the exhaust air injection tube has a leak or small hole will that cause fuel injrector wire harness to melt?

It absolutely can. It can blow super hot exhaust gasses on the components and melt them.
