mildew smell in vents

Can anyone tell me where the intake is for the defrost on my Ford F-150? I have a mildew smell coming out of the defrost whenever i turn it on so i figured I would spray some mildew killer down in there and stop the smell. Thanks in advance.

My wifes Aviator does the same thing. The intake is outside between the windshield and the hood. You will see numerous vent slots with a wire screen under them.

I crank the A/C and spray an entire can of Lysol into the vents (the ones mentioned above). That usually does the trick. Last about a year. Then I do it again.

Had the same problem so asked the dealer. They said it was common in these trucks on short trips the moisture that gets in the ventilation system doesn't get dried up. they bombed my truck for $15 and all was well.

There is a foaming cleaner made for this problem. I can not remember who makes it. I saw it on a car repair show once.
