Autolamp Install

I have searched this forum after speaking with my local Ford dealer and purchasing parts to install an autolamp system. I have installed a new headlamp switch as well as the sensor and cannot get the system to work at all. The tech told me that it should be "plug and play" but no go. They have been helpful in the past, so I don't want to "stretch" my relationship if I don't have to.

Just to clarify, I am installing it on a '05 f250, 5.4, DRL, a wiring harness at the sensor and NO factory autolamp system. I must be missing something something. Programing? module install?

Thank you for any suggestions or maybe a schematic, or functional diagram.

My first guess would be a parameter in the PCM needs to be turned on...

I just wonder if all the wiring is there in the dash for it.

That is what I think. But I was told that that was not needed

When I upgraded the radio, I had to walk my dealership through the service manual to show them that there was a PCM parameter to turn on the AUX input jack...

they were nice and only charged me for a half hour of work instead of the hour minimum.

When I added my trailer plug, I had no power(12+) at wire at rear of truck. Found that some knuckle head put the feed wire in the wrong spot in the factory harness under hood by main fuse box. Took me two days chasing wires to figure it out.

When I added my passenger side air bag and shut off switch I had to beg the dealer to update the pcm for it. It was all plug and play though. So maybe it is what texas said also.

On my 10' it was plug and play. I put the sensor in, put the switch in and they worked.
