vacuum canister for HVAC

My round plastic ball, called a vacuum reservoir or canister, for the HVAC, located on/near the driver side wheel well under the hood, snapped off one of the connections while I was replacing a spark plug. Advance auto parts supposedly found me a replacement, a BWD part number EC101. It has an old Ford number stamped on it D4DE-9E453-BA. But is is not near as big as the old ball and has three ports (one was plugged). One port is labeled Man (for manifold) and the other Amp. I'm wondering if this will work for my HVAC? My problem is that I only get air coming out of defrost vents and selecting vent, heat, bilevel makes no change. Would anyone have the OEM Ford part #?

If you're only getting heat out of the defrost vents, that would seem to indicate that the vacuum routing switch in the dash is bad. The reservoir only serves to maintain vacuum to the heater controls when the throttle is open wide and manifold vacuum is low.

Well,
the air diversion selection (e.g. heat/vent/defrost) stopped working when that vacuum line snapped that went to the vacuum ball/canister. I haven't hooked it back up to see if things will work correctly, with that new part (that doesn't look like my old one). I might try that out though.

Anyone have the OEM part # for the vacuum ball?
