Check engine warning light comes on.

Check engine warning light comes on.
I have a 94 F350 diesel and when I first start the truck up and within a minute the Check Engine warning light comes on and the truck runs really rough with no power. In about 2-3 minutes the Check Engine light will go off and the truck runs normal again. If I turn the engine off and start it up again the same thing happens.
The manual states when the light comes on when the Electronic Engine Control System (EEC) is not working correctly and if it comes on ans stays on when driving have vehicle serviced but do not need it towed. (does this mean it should not lose power? Sure is not drivable when this is happening now.)
If it is the EEC where is it located on the truck and is it easy to replace?
Thanks
Marty

It's probably not the EEC for a 94 unless it's a very late 94 making it one of the early Power Strokes.
You're in the wrong forum in either case.
