yes there are 2v 5.4's Ford started them in the F150's in 1997
Ford went with the 3v in 2004 (if im wrong the guys on here will correct me, also not sure if the Heritage truck got the new engine though)
with the 2v engines it is quite the opposite of being stuck in the motor, the 2v's had a problem with shooting their spark plugs out on their own.

1997-2003 5.4 2v
2004 Old Body style - 5.4 2v
2004 New Body Style - 5.4 3v
2005-2009 - 5.4 3v
5.4 2v = it, like the 4.6 2v and V-10 likes to eject spark plugs.
5.4 3v = to fix the ejecting plug problem, Ford did some tweaking. the combination of 3v's and the ejection repair caused an extremely tight clearance in the head....and now the plugs get stuck
ironic
