325/60/18's don't fit!! Lift??

Bummin!! They came off an '02 F250 w/no lift and very minimal rubbing. Put them on the '00 Excursion (in sig) and they are crammed HARD into the wheelwell with slight turn.

So, I have a set of barely used '02 F250 front leaf springs to put on, will these give me any additional clearance?

What other options do I have? I really want to run these tires, but still need to fit in the garage (and use my Landyot Radius Rods for 'stock height'). Mini Spring Pack, dropped hanger??

This is a perfect example to show that Excursions are lower from the factory than the F-250. Throw those F-250 springs on and it should give you same height/clearance as the truck that the tires came from.

Exactly, F-250s had firmer springs than the Excursion. The Excursion is the SUV of the Superduty lineup, but it has softer springs to deliver a more car-like ride. Get a set of V, B, or F code springs and you'll be good to go.

Before you do anything I'll have Stewart_H throw in his 2 cents. He's knows alot about these springs and will get you set in the right direction so you only have to do it once.

Jason, as you have obviously learned, and like Mr. Freeride has already stated, the 4x4 Excursions have a different suspension than the 4x4 trucks.

Regarding the set of springs you have from the F250, do you know what code they are?

Either way, you're limiting your options because you want to stay with the stock height model Landyots already on your rig.

At the very least, putting the F250 springs on is the minimum you need to do.

Do you tow with the Ex? Can you use the Landyots with a set of F250 rear springs? Can you still use them with a slightly bigger rear block than came on the OEM Excursions?

I'll figure out what code the springs I have are. I may try to stick them on today anyway - the stock springs pratically ride the rubber snubbers anyway. My guess is they SUCKED 200k miles ago!

I have not installed the Landyots yet. I can use different superduty springs with them - I'll have to check on the taller blocks...

If I have to do a lift, what are my options for minimal lift? 2 - 2.5" would be OK. What about a body lift? (generally not fond of this option)

I think you are right. Your truck looks great like that. I'd hate for the 33" 325's to be a little short under that though. Next set may have to be 35's, eh?

After looking closely, I'm sure I would have much of the same issue with even 285/75/16's on this Ex. I know I've seen plenty of X's running those. I guess these springs are pretty worn!

Well, I'm kinda out of time already on this trip home. Next 'visit', I think I'll try the F250 springs I've got and some taller blocks and see where that gets me - if that won't clear these tires, I know what to do!

Oh yeah, this rig is not towing anything now. I have considered trading the 5ver for a TT, but not soon if I do...

Thanks again guys!

total cost for my 2" lift was

springs = $250 shipped
Blocks= $60 shipped
Ubolts = $120 shipped
install = Free (self)
Tires/rims = $360 pickup
sold my tires rims + $450

total cost = $340

shocks and steering stabilizer were optional so I didnt include in the above cost as I used stock size shocks..

With the F250 springs up front you will still have some rubbing on the plastic inner wheel well. Best way to remedy this is to get a heat gun and soften the inner fender where it's rubbing and, using a metal implement, push the plastic back out of the way.

You will still probably get some 'braaaap' rubbing if you are turned full lock and compress the suspension. The only true way to ensure no rub is to do a proper lift or eliminate the plastic inner fenders.
