i just got a superchips programmer, i was thinking about getting the edge evolution. i'm gonna get the dp tuner too. you can stack those together right? (use both at same time) also i'm gonna put gauges in, didnt know if i should put in triple pillar or get the edge and the pillar it fits in. any input will be greatly appreciated. taking camper next weekend and i wanna put gauges in this week. so i'm just undecided what i should get. thanks

 

No can do. A "chip" that plugs into the J3 port on the back of the computer WILL OVERRIDE ANY PROGRAMMING FLASHED TO THE PCM.

You can program your PCM with an Evolution/Superchips/Diablosport/etc., etc. all day long. As soon as you connect a "chip" to the PCM, that programming does NOTHING.

 

my buddy has the banks 4 gun and just got the dp tuner. he said they are both hooked up. but the 4 gun isnt a programmer so maybe thats why?? so basically it would be worthless to get like the edge to use as my gauges? i'm gonna get a dp tuner for it. it sounds like i'd save a lot of money if i just get a trio pillar gauge kit.

 

Actually, if you want to use digital gauges (like the EVO 2 has), then by all means, go ahead! It won't hurt anything since it's just reading data from the OBD II port. Yes, the Banks "ICP fooler" WILL work in conjunction with the DP-Tuner or similar chip. Will it work well? Probably not worth the added $$$ and the almost guaranteed check engine light due to P1211.

 

I don't know if this is the right forum, but I was wondring if I can run a TS Performance 6 position tuner, with an Edge Eveolution cs? I want to put the CS on stock and only use it for gauges and monitoring. and then use the TS as my tuner. Thanks.

 

Buy an Insight CS instead of the Evolution. It's the same physical part (diagnostic data) without the added expense of the "programmer" part.
