Help - Thinking About Selling

Hi folks,

Well, I think I may cut my losses and get rid of the truck. Can anybody please give me an idea what all this is worth? The following is a list of what I have (plus a few odds and sods), all in need of assembly. Thanks in advance.

1953 Ford F-100 Pickup

Body

Cab and doors chopped 5”
Cab corners, sills, floors replaced
Dash customized
Doors ready for one piece glass
Side vents remove
Door handles shaved
Excellent hood
Good fenders
Fairlane smoothie fiberglass running boards
Sr. Michaels steel roll pan

Chassis

Original frame, Mustang II cross member kit with sway bar and boxing plates, TCI 4-link rear suspension kit with panhard, Ford 9" housing with disc brakes (no gears, full size car, not Versailles).

Boxed frame, Corvette IFS and IRS cross member kits, Corvette front and rear suspension assemblies with disc brakes.

2003 Lincoln LS independent rear suspension complete with sub-frame, upper and lower A-arms (aluminum), half-shafts, gear housing (aluminum), 8.0” gears, disc brakes, electronic emergency brake actuator, no struts. Also includes extra sub-frame, gear housing, and gears.

Engine and Transmission

351 Windsor, low mileage (40K original miles according to previous owner)
C6 transmission (same mileage as above)
AOD from 5.0L HO (high mileage)

Misc. Parts

Fuel tank with sender, radiator, original rear-end (with gears, axles, no brakes), and front I-beam.

In order to give you a proper assessment pictures would be helpful. Is what you are selling basically just a pile of parts or is some of it assembled? And if so what part or parts of it are assembled? Is the cab, fenders, bed, etc have any rust issues to contend with? In today's depressed market you may not get what you think it is worth so keep that in mind.

It appears you have an extensively modified, unassembled truck. The price of anything is what the market will bear, but you have limited the market to a buyer with the means to transport the non-running vehicle/parts and the ability to assemble/complete the work based on a framework that you created.
<o></o>
The equation is not simply adding up your estimated value of the parts and adding a cost for your time to date. Hopefully, you live in a large enough metro area that may draw interest and where supplemental automotive/fabrication support can be had.
<o></o>
Be prepared to take a loss. People with cash in a depressed market are looking for bargains, especially when it comes to non-essentials.

<o></o>Good Luck.

The truck is in a fairly large market area, Ontario, Canada. This is where our better Western Canadian trucks usually end up in.

If you do decide to sell remember to use the FTE classifieds and please do not list it for sale in this forum.
