'74 302-2v Dwell?

I am going through the ignition on my truck and I wanted to make sure the dwell was set properly. Unfortunately I can't find what it is supposed to be anywhere. Anything I do find says to refer to the sticker under the hood, which is long gone.

Any information would be appreciated.

Thanks!

Set it to where it sounds best. This is old school. Does anyone even have a dwell meter any more? Adjustable distributors are long gone.

Make sure your vacuum advance is working.

My dad does. It's running at 34* currently.

They're not completely gone yet, this truck still has one.

For a Ford V8 engine, 26-31 will be fine. It used to be easy on a Chevy with the adjustable points, or if you took out the distributor and put it on a distributor machine. (Anybody remember those?) With Ford, it was kinda trial and error.
Luckily, there is some forgiveness there.

There's one of those machines in the garage in Butte Montana, it says "Currie Chevrolet" on it. Hugh Currie was my uncle.

Yeah with the GM distributor its a lot easyer because they have the door on the cap , so you can adjust the dwell with the motor running . On the fords we would set the dwell with the plugs out , and spin it over with the starter , or just set them with a feeler gauge . As long as your with in the dwell window your ok .. Lew

Opp's, initially posted response with settings for earlier model 302 which apparently don't apply.
