I am running B20 currently for the heck of it and it seems fine. Everything seems exactly the same except she runs alot quieter.

Yep -- I just got done with a tank of B20. Smells funny, but seems to run okay. Definitely quieter. Not sure you get "the smell" with B5, but be careful up there MN!! Bio gels *a lot* faster than dino. Hopefully they'll treat it accordingly for the cold.

I only got ~14MPG this time, but I was also not too nice with the pedal this tank...

I think it's great too see more and more pumps with 5% bio in it. Not so much for the sustainability factor involved, but for the lubricity that just 5% contributes. Especially with ULSD. More than makes up for the drop in sulphur.

I myself, make my own bio, and am currently running B100. I produce enough for myself and for my parents MB. Yeah, slightly noticeable power loss and fuel mileage, (less than 10% ?). But it's a nice feeling being 'off the grid' as they say. And I'm using a waste product.

FYI, it's not the loss of sulfur itself the kill the lubricity of the fuel -- the process of removing it also removes the natural lubricity of the fuel making it very "dry". The fuel companies add lubricity agents back in, but the controversy is how much is the right amount. The engine manufacturers say an HFRR of 460, the Gov't (EPA?) says 520 is good enough (the lower the better). I take the word of the engine manufacturers, and assume that they just meet the minimum score of 520, so I add enough PowerService DK to bring it down ~60 points. So far so good, and I get a cetane boost as well. However, when I run Bio I forgo the DK...

I run WVO in both my trucks during the summer and a mix during the winter. I have noticed no change in milage or power and I tow large loads all day everyday (15,000lbs in the trailer)

Only thing I notice is a craving for french fries alot more often.

I just let it settle for at least a week (longer if its cold out) filter it and dump it in.

My 99 now has well over 200,000 miles on it with no problems at all. I just picked up my 01 a couple of months ago but seems to be doing fine also.

Thanks Joe,

I need to be more careful around the way I approach certain facts.

The loss of power/mileage while running Bio is well known. Don't know if WVO is the same or not. I would assume it's the same. I raced a ricer with B100 in my tank and got SPANKED. That was the end of B100 for me. B20 isn't so bad I guess (my last tank) -- I know Kris ran on the dyno and forgot about the big mix of bio in his tank (I think he said it was around B60). Got lower numbers than he expected, then realized the bio in his tank...

Off topic but do you still get the same amount of smoke in your DP tuner smoke tune?

As far as I can tell yeah Its a little more bluish or maybe a little lighter though. Hard to see it exactly through the tinting. I just know that I can barely see the car behind me

Go Minnesota!

It is a very good thing. I think we will see a lot more Bio available once the grip of the multinationals is pryed loose from our government.

I'm sure some people thought it would be good when they introduced E10 into gasoline. Right now I am forced to buy Citgo gas for my Vette since that is the only person near me that sells 100% gas for 93 octane. And then there is the E85 crap. Based on what I have seen happen with govt intervention, I don't think this will be good. Hopefully it won't hit WI for a few years yet. When passing thru MN, I try to fuel up before and after.
