bought gennie wheels today

Well I couldn't resist, purchased a set of Gennie wheels 15x8 w/ 3.75 backspace today, for $175.85. I've been pricing and looking for whells for a long time but kept coming back to Summit racing. They supply Wheel Vinque wheels and by far were the most competitive pricing out there...I can't wait to get some 255/75 R/15 Radial T/A's on them...I'll get some pics soon CHEERS

Is 'Gennie' a brand of wheels?

Gennie in the old Ford car/truck hobby usually refers to Genuine Ford Parts.

The first year Ford offered 15" x 8" wheels was in 1977, there were two types.

Styled steel or styled aluminum.

Ford never offered a 15" painted wheel any wider than 6.5" and this was also first available in the 1970's.

I also found Summit to be the best price particularly delivered to your door (their shipping prices are the best also). Did you buy yours powdercoated?

Yeah Gennie is the model/style/type of wheel that Wheel Vintique sells that is most similiar to OE wheel on 48-up F100's. The wheels accepts the block lettered hubcap. It is what is on my F100.

No, I was going to epoxy paint them...even though powder coat is popular, it still stresses upder flex...epoxy is more flexible...

Be sure to check them good before painting/coating. I did a set of those only to find one that did not run true. No exchange after coaqting. Joe

I don't rmemeber for sure, if I ever knew for sure, but when I had the tires mounted the guy showed me the runout. I had a friend that happened to have the same wheel he was using for a shop roller and he swapped with me. This was probably 10 years ago. Joe

Yea...I had trouble with new cragar ss at summit....they did n't run true. Iset them up on a lathe and set dial indicator on them and there was 1 bad 1 for every 2 I bought. I wanted 5 all together and they were alright with me bringing them back.
Cragars are not as good as years before.

I like these wheel vintique wheels but powder coating would delete the warranty most likely........and I am cheap...haha......I like to use engine enamel on the wheels. Holds up well, cheap, can touch-up.....and stands up to heat.
Not to be nosey...but what size and what cost is involved in 4 wheels for my 53? thanks...Bill
